Philadelphia

The city of brotherly love. It’s one of the last major cities I have yet to visit. Plenty of friends who have lived there and been there and say a lot of amazing things. Now, it’s easy to go the Philly fan route and get them on that but they truly are passionate fans about their teams. A personal opinion, I respect the Philly fans, yes they are known as terrible fans but all of them know it and don’t deny they are terrible fans. There are plenty of other big sports cities who have just as bad fans but they act like they are good fans but in reality they are probably even worse than Philly fans in a lot of areas. Philadelphia is a city full of history, amazing food, and good times. The weather can be a little harsh. Most of Pennsylvania has not the greatest weather, well at least consistently. Hence the name of one of the best comedy shows “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state with non stop mountains and forest. It seriously goes on for about the entire state. The Appalachian trail runs all through the state and so do the Appalachian mountains. One of the best places to get a good view of the fall colors. Just outside Philadelphia, you can find yourself in nature very quickly. There isn’t great skiing or winter sports around the area but there definitely are some spots! I remember doing a ski trip out in the Pocono’s at Jack Frost and Big Boulder when I was in elementary school. Back then, that was all I needed and had a blast. You also have Seven Springs too which I did a bachelor party at and let's just say we had a great time. I want to give a shout out to my lizard friend though in Seven Springs. There are a ton of gems all throughout the great state of Pennsylvania.

Long Beach Island

If you want to get that salt in the hair and a sun burn, just head east through New Jersey and you will come to the beaches of New Jersey. Now, to many people's surprise, New Jersey has a lot of great beaches. The whole coast of New Jersey is essentially a beach. Now the beaches near New York City are very different then the beaches in central and southern New Jersey. One I have been to is Long Beach Island. Great little beach area with a lot to do. The whole coast is great for all the water activities that people enjoy.

Bear Creek / Allentown

Heading out of Philadelphia and into inner Pennsylvania, Allentown is a good entry point into the wilderness that is Pennsylvania. You find a ton of animals all throughout the state from bears, to turkeys, to so many deer you won’t know what to do with. Between the PA coasts as some lovingly call where Pittsburgh and Philadelphia sit, there is much to explore and find!
